Penthouse: Pets in Paradise

Long out of print and rarely found in retail outlets, this one’s a tough find even for determined collectors. Why Penthouse didn’t press more copies of this tantalizing DVD is a mystery to me, because Pets in Paradise is among the best of its kind when it comes to “modeling” videos, meaning those where the performers do more posing than acting. Usually, they have no dialogue, no plot, and a purely musical backdrop.

Usually I find such products to be either monotonous or frustrating in their limitations. More to the point, they almost always suffer from lack of sexual heat. Things are a bit different with this one. For starters, viewers should know that the traditional boundaries of softcore are pushed outward and open, sometimes wide open if you know what I mean, in grand Penthouse fashion. Secondly, we’re talking about some dangerously serious eye candy: the girls are Penthouse Pets Sunny Leone (March 2001), Tera Patrick (February 2000), and Kyla Cole (March 2000). Each is captivating, especially Kyla, who looks simply amazing. And, I might add, the cinematography is excellent.

All scenes are of the outdoor variety and are shot in tropical Costa Rica, or so we’re told. Kyla is on display first, lounging on horseback for our viewing pleasure. Looking sexy while lying across the back of a large animal may sound awkward and even silly, but Kyla manages quite nicely. Picture-perfect Sunny Leone then has a solo scene, which generates even more steam, and following the solo sessions is a pleasantly erotic scene featuring the two of them together under a waterfall. Liquids, lotions, and even mud are used to adorn bodies in several scenes in this video, mostly with positive effect.

After Tera Patrick takes her turn showing her wares, things get really interesting as the three beauties are together poolside. It’s one of two long and languid scenes that is nothing short of mesmerizing. Even though it has a somewhat choreographed look to it, there’s a fair amount of genuine, sensuous girl-girl kissing, plenty of breast play, and even some tongue-to-triangle contact. I got the feeling they were holding back a bit, but only because they had to.

On whole, Pets in Paradise is like the perfect getaway —an unhurried and relaxing escape with plenty of nice scenery. But again, as of this writing, it’ll take some effort to find. Tickets to paradise don’t come easy, and apparently neither does this DVD.
