Medieval Fleshpots 2: Hot Wenches

I picked this straight to video movie from the bargain basement at my local Blockbuster Express. With a title like Medieval Fleshpots 2: Hot Wenches I figured it would be safe to assume that the local video distributor had taken a film and retitled it with something ridiculous but eyecatching enough to get people to notice it on the Blockbuster video shelves. Checking the IMDB later I discovered that actually this is the real title of the film. Before I could wonder what ever happened to Medieval Fleshpots 1, I started the video to be greeted with a trailer for the first film, which as it turns out stars Rena Mero, aka the sexy Sable of WWE wrestling fame.

Anyway, to the Hot Wenches . This film I believe was shot in the Czech Republic, meaning a whole host of new faces to softcore. A positive as some of the girls are very sexy and far more ‘natural’ than their American counterparts. The film is also a women in prison film, one of my favourite softcore sub-genres. The story revolves around a girl who is framed for drug possession and sent to a former military base, now a women’s prison that the warden likes to affectionately call “Hell”. The girl’s brother works at Interpol and it turns out she is framed to lure him there so the warden can bribe him for the evidence Interpol has on her.

The cop is killed and the girl is recaptured after she tries to escape. The warden then safely deletes the evidence against her. Its revealed that the prisoners are all forced to manufacture a drug called Scorpion which the warden is exporting.

The film has an abundance of flesh. All the prisoners wear torn tops. They sleep and wander around in their cell topless all the time. They shower often. The warden’s personal guards dress like schoolgirls and the cell guards all dress in PVC. Girls are whipped and fondled throughout the film. One guard rewards girls with food if they supply her with stolen Scorpion and sleep with her.

Despite the abundance of naked flesh, there’s actually very little sex going on. The lesbian guard is responsible for the only two actual love scenes with two of the female inmates. The story also is quite disjointed. The low budget nature of the film is very apparent in the filming and editing style. There’s a lot of time jumps which only add to the low budget feel.

On the whole it was fairly enjoyable. Its passable as a low budget b-film due to the prepronderance of naked women but fails as a piece of erotica due to lack of any hot sex scenes. Even the two they have have very little fizzle. It’s all very soft touchy-touchy pseudo-sex. But the women are great to look at and as stated before its nice to see a plethora of new faces. Oh, and it’s contemporary and not Medieval.
