In the Sign of the Taurus

I tyrens tegn or “In the Sign of the Taurus” is a period piece set in 1920s Denmark.  A lecherous old Count dies while scoping out the local chicks at the town beach. Being a respectable Danish burg, the local girls are all virgins and are basically kept under lock and key by their parents. In his will the Count stipulates that if, exactly 9 months after his death during the astrological sign of Taurus, one of the town’s girls produces a child out of wedlock, that child will inherit his millions.

The town fathers hatch a plan to keep the will secret and have the town slut, Carola, take the hit, but word seeps out and suddenly it’s a gold rush, or rather a sex rush. Some of the girls go to Carola for lessons. She hands out bananas and the girls learn how to masturbate with them.  One of the girls is too hirsute and is sent off to the barber to be shaved.  The boys consult books to learn how to do it and practice on glory holes, which just so happen to be staffed by some of the girls.  The night of the Count’s farewell party arrives, and the boys and girls run off into the countryside to take their best shot at the prize.

Like the other features in the Tegn series, you get plenty of real sex, and it’s not all plain vanilla stuff too.  There’s cum shots, shaving, even some anal.  The girls are cute although how much you enjoy the show depends on how much you like flappers with ubiquitous headbands.  The series also features some nude contortionist dancers in gratuitous scenes to spice things up a bit.  I don’t speak Danish, but it sure seems like the actors and actresses are pretty good, though in this movie there’s more of a separation between the older professional actors and the younger beef- and cheese-cake on display, more so than in the other Tegn movies.  What you don’t get is long sex scenes, or many closeups.  But the movie looks pretty gorgeous even if the plot is a little more boring than the others in the series.

I like to think of these Danish hardcore efforts in terms of their competition to the south — the many German softcore series like the Lederhosen movies, or the beaver-friendly Erwin C. Dietrich entries from Switzerland.  Everyone has their favorites in this race (and surely, some people can’t stand the tepid, slapstick comedy that Germanic sex is always tied to), but it’s hard to beat the Danes in terms of movie quality, hotness of the women, plus the fact that they go farther than the other countries do, sex-wise.  Heck, they pretty much invented hardcore porn in Europe in 1970, so they had a head start!
