Femalien

One of Surrender's first campy sci-fi erotic vids, Femalien tells the tale of Kara (Venesa Taylor), a busty, beautiful alien who has come to earth in order to learn about sex. She finds herself in several sexual situations, both as a voyeur and as a participant. Sara St. James plays a hippy free spirit named Sun, who helps Kara learn about our sexual culture while trying to protect her restaurant from a greedy businessman.

There is a lot of sex in this flick but much of it is too choreographed, with little passion coming across to the viewer. Venesa is gorgeous but seems very reserved and not into her scenes at all, barely touching herself and "posing" while she watches other couples make love. There is a lingerie store scene with Taylor St. Claire and Stevi Conrad that gets pretty hot, and Sara gets herself oiled up in a solo sequence, but most of the other scenes get high grades for nudity but low grades for heat.

The best scene of the movie is saved for last, when Venesa and Sara get together for a lustful, scorching girl/girl scene. Yeee-owwww.

Though shot from a distance, this was the first time I had seen a modern American softcore film feature a spread-leg shot. Venesa lies back on the bed and opens her legs for Sara to do a sixty-nine, and I swear folks, it looks like Sara is helping herself greedily to Venesa's slice o' pie. If you turn up the volume you can hear the film crew's jaws collectively hitting the floor with a THUMP! Oops, wait...that was my jaw. It is for this scene that Femalien gets a high rating and has received an almost "classic" stature amongst many softcore fans.

When I first saw this movie back in '96, I couldn't believe that a softcore movie was showing such explicit nudity. From Kathleen Mazzotta's bikini bottoms being pulled aside to reveal her glistening netherbits to the final scene with Venesa Taylor in all her spread-legged glory, this flick raised the bar when it came to showing the forbidden "pink stuff". And for you ladies out there there are a few scenes of male frontal nudity as well. All in all, a lusty dry humper worthy of addition to any softcore fan's collection.
