The Erotic Mirror

I'll admit that I'm not a big fan of Seduction Cinema films. But with the soft beauty of Laurie Wallace gracing the cover photo for The Erotic Mirror , I had no choice but to give it a look. I figured that her gleaming blonde hair and glowing complexion would brighten even the dullest of low-budget sets, and maybe-just maybe-she would bring some genuine heat to sex scenes that are usually uninspired or tainted by low-brow humor.
The story starts with promise as we see Amy (Laurie Wallace), traveling with her boyfriend on their way to a vacation of sorts, escaping the hubbub of the city for a couple of weeks in Hometown, USA. It's not a lavish getaway retreat, but the two are kissy-faced happy at the prospect of being alone for unlimited snuggle time, and right away I'm thinking that maybe-just maybe-we'll see some hot heterosexual action before this thing is over. Without giving away too much of the plot, I feel obligated to issue this warning to those who may be unfamiliar with Seduction Cinema films: the boy-girl stuff just ain't gonna happen. Sigh.
Enroute to their destination, the couple visit an antique shop where Amy discovers an old standing mirror and is immediately entraced by it's erotic pull. "Inside" the mirror she sees a beckoning babe (Darian Caine) who somehow casts an erotic spell on those who gaze into it. Of course, she buys the mirror and takes it home, where she seems unable to do anything but masturbate furiously while in its presence. Yes, it's all rather hokey, even for a softcore film. But then again, this is a Seduction Cinema product, so what the hell did you expect?
Amy obvioiusly enjoys getting off to the mirror, but at the same time is troubled enough by her new compulsion to seek out medical help. She gets herself (and the mirror) to a doctor who happens to be an old girlfriend, where of course they both fall "victim" to the effects of the mirror, and get naked and nasty right there in the exam room. This is probably the best showcase of Laurie in this movie, and features the most realistic sex, but unfortunately the scene is spoiled by the distracting presence of a gotesquely huge-boobed nurse-receptionist that seems to be there for no other reason than to provide comic relief. Bizarre, yes. Funny, no.
For some reason, Amy gets the idea that if she could only get get two or three other chicks to have sex with her while in front of the mirror, the seductress within would be freed, and all would be well. Needless to say, it's all the premise necessary for a couple of multi-girl get-togethers that, sadly, leave Amy's poor boyfriend high and dry. Too bad for us, too, because the remaining sex scenes in this movie are long and monotonous and so devoid of real eroticism that, unless you're stoned, you'll be fast-forwarding to the NON-sex parts. I'll suggest that if you haven't liked what you've seen to this point, that you move your finger directly over the "eject" button on your remote control, press it, and save your machine some wear and tear. Really, it's just not worth it.
I'm guessing that Erotic Mirror will disappoint all but the likes of Howard Stern and other faithful Seduction Cinema fans, who apparently insist on heaping helpings of nothing but lezbo encounters. Not that I object to to the idea-I don't-but this time it struck me as unnecessarily one-dimensional and just plain dull. And what a missed opportunity-and a golden one at that-to not have at least one scene with Laurie Wallace straddling a very willing "member" of the opposite sex.
