Lorissa McComas has died

According to a statement on her official web site, actress and model Lorissa McComas passed away on November 3. We don’t know the official details yet, but Wikipedia has her death listed as an apparent suicide.
Lorissa was one of my favorites. Beautiful, with a perfect balance of girlish innocence and sultry naughtiness, I always loved seeing her name in the opening credits. And of course, seeing her was always a treat, too.
Sadly, her life was apparently full of troubles and personal hardships. According to at least one blog report (part 1 and part 2), her mother died of cancer while lying in her arms. A few months after that, her father shot himself. She had a brother who was struggling with AIDS. And to add even more insult to injury, the Florida courts deemed her an unfit parent and took away her son. She also had serious health issues that impacted her ability to work.
It seems unbelievable that so much tragedy could be heaped on one person, a person who by all reports was sweet, kind, and appreciative of her fans. She was loved by many of us here in softcore fandom and will be missed.
